People gathered in support of the Tower theater on Broadway in Sacramento on April 29. Remember the Alhambra- the apparent mantra is a reference to a theater that once stood at Alhambra and J st. The historic building was bulldozed in order to make room for something unique to Sacramento: a Safeway.
The city of Sacramento proposes spending millions to build a theater on K street that would directly compete for Art films with the Tower Theater. The new K st theater would be handed over to the Century Theaters Corporation... rent free.
Mumbo Gumbo played in support of the Tower Theater. The manager (seen above) after several television interviews still stopped and took the time to talk with little web media people like me at Life in Sacramento. Thanks Michael!
