Fair warning on the "Best Burger" claim, I certainly haven't tried every burger in downtown and midtown Sacramento. In fact, Nation-Wide is the only burger in Sacramento that I am willing to eat. After reading "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser, I wouldn't dare eat a burger from a Fast Food Chain restaurant. Fear not, Sacramento has Nation-wide Freezer meats. Their meat comes from Harris Ranch. You won't find a 99 cent burger here, but consider this- you get what you pay for.
Nation-Wide is what a burger place is supposed to be. The Beatles, and other hits from the 50's and 60's, can always be heard on the radio, the dining room is colorfully decorated with Coca-Cola decor and there is a simulated "outdoor" seating area. The old location, just off J st, is depicted on the wall.
If you like Burgers and Fries, Nation-Wide is an absolute must. Best burger in Sacramento.
